Doing Business With Cambodia

Cambodia's economic breakdown by sector is:

  • Services, 43%
  • Agriculture 31% and
  • Industry 26%

The industrial sector is dominated by the garment and construction industries. In the services sector, tourism is seen as a major growth area. Cambodia's major exports are clothing, timber, rubber, rice, fish, tobacco and footwear. New Zealand's main import from Cambodia is clothing and our main exports are aircraft and food products.

The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific publishes a Traders' Manual for Least Developed Countries on Cambodia.

While there is no Cambodia-specific information available on NZTE's Doing Business with South East Asia website, it may be useful to read information on doing business in other countries in the region, as cultural and practical factors influencing business practice are common to many Southeast Asian countries.

You can also make direct contact with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for further information, either through the website or on 0800 555 888.
